The VA Building Code Academy is excited to offer a new continuing education class to its regular schedule:
Law and Order- Preparing for Court, a Mock Trial Experience
This 8-hour continuing education course is designed for Building, Code, and Fire Officials, assistant code officials, inspectors, and other code professionals. The purpose is to introduce officials and technical assistants on the steps required for preparing for a court case including collecting and organizing information, working cross-functionally with various departments and government officials, and understanding the basics of courtroom etiquette. The course culminates with traveling to a local courtroom to attend a live mock trial where participants present their case with a local judge and legal representation. Persons taking this course should have basic knowledge of the legal administration of inspections in the state of Virginia.
Our first offerings are scheduled for September 4th, and then again November 8th , both in the Richmond or surrounding area. Due to the format of this class, student registration is limited to 30. Based on demand the VBCA will offer it multiple times in the 2025 schedule.
