Codes Inspector

City of Waynesboro, Building & Zoning Department:. Performs building, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical inspections for residential, commercial, and industrial structures. Ability to detect code violations, read and interpret construction plans, and work effectively and courteously with the public. Requires thorough knowledge of construction materials and methods, Uniform State Building Code, related codes, and city ordinances. Good computer skills and ability to enter data into files/records, and generate inspections reports. H.S. diploma/equivalent required with coursework in construction, inspections, or related subjects preferred. 3 years minimum experience in general construction or inspections field. Valid operator’s license required. Salary: $38,438-$42,281 DOE/DOQ. Must have or obtain required State certifications within 18 months of employment. Position is open until filled.
