In reading the January/February edition of the IAEI magazine, came across an article in the UL Question Corner about SolarAPP review and permitting software for residential solar systems. Are any jurisdictions using or considering using this product?. Free to the jurisdiction, fee collected from contractor.

Culpeper CountyI took a quick look at this system a while back. It didn’t seem to be a good fit for our jurisdiction. Also, it seemed to be only applicable to roof top residential projects, ground mounted systems and commercial projects did not appear to be included. I was also concerned who would be reviewing the construction documents, and if they were certified to perform plan review in Virginia. Just my thoughts.
