Residential Energy Storage Systems (ESS)

Has any other jurisdictions had to deal with either the Tesla or Generac ESS’s.

My specific question is how is the unfinished location is being addressed, Generac’s installation instructions speak of (Should consider)  protecting the walls and ceiling in compliance with local building code or fire code, see attached current Generac installation instructions.

Then there is the debate of habitable space and unfinished basements.

Look forward to hearing of similar experiences and policies.
