Greetings.
I have a question wherein one of the healthcare facilities within my purview is interested in installing several of these MAMAVA Units; these units are anticipated to be provided for lactation area(s) for nursing mothers in efforts to comply with Virginia Law. I am trying to determine compliance – at first glance to me, it may seem like an industrialized building (I have confirmed with manufacturer it is currently unregistered – meaning they currently do not have any state industrialized building programs established), but things to consider – is it habitable (as defined under VUSBC) or occupiable (as defined under VUSBC), and would it be any different from a photo booth kiosk or a telephone booth (if they still existed)? Does a photo booth kiosk fall under the exemption for recreation equipment in VUSBC section 102.3?
I have concerns about interior environment (minimal size, ventilation, etc.), construction type, accessibility, sprinkler protection, etc. if it is in fact regulated by the VUSBC/IBC.
Thank you in advance for any assistance you may provide.

Justin,
First thought, I recommend talking with your local building official.
Second thought,to my understanding the unit (room) is not habitable or occupiable per the code.
I would recommend to address it as a non habitable space like a restroom.
requiring some type of ventilation, and sprinkler,(if the structure is sprinkler where the unit is placed). Also address accessibility and overseeing the location of the unit that it does not interfere with egress,(lighting, path, door swing, exit signs, etc)
I would step away from the kiosk since the unit is fully enclosed.
Just my 2 cents worth,
