I have a 230v lift pump installed under a sink in an industrial facility. The outlet is within 6′ of the sink. Is a GFCI receptacle be required? I was told since there is no neutral in the circuit the GFCI isn’t applicable. Please advise.
Not on a 230 volt receptacle. The requirement is for 125 -volt , single phase , 15 and 20 amp receptacles. Ref: NEC 210.8 (B) for the voltage and receptacle size………NEC 210.8 (B) item (5) for the sink requirement and measurement from the outside edge of the sink.
