Has anyone gotten clarification on the outdoor seating occupant loads.Does the restaurant have to already have Health Dept. approved outdoor seating?Is this on the Health Dept permit?Can a restaurant just start doing it based on 50% of the interior occupant load?Any help would be appreciated.
In my experience, this isĀ a Health Department issue. The VDH issues a restaurant operational permit that lists both indoor and outdoor seating limits. Oversight on seating capacity as opposed to occupancy limits, is a VDH issue.
