As many of you know, the Institute has been working in a variety of areas to provide performance-based approaches that result in measurable achievement of community, owner and design team goals. As part of that effort, we have been working with a diverse group of stakeholders to develop an optional outcome-based approach for energy use within the International Green Construction Code (IgCC). While the proposal was not developed within the NCGBCS I want to provide an update on its status and encourage you to consider indicating support during the online voting process through cdpAccess (http://www.cdpaccess.com).
cdpAccess is the final step in the development process for the 2015 IgCC. Eligible voting members have the opportunity to weigh in on the future content of the code. The voting window opened Friday and closes on October 31. Please vote or reach out to colleagues with voting privileges and encourage them to vote.
Attached for your reference is a one-pager on the content of the outcome-based pathway proposal (GEW147) and the supporting organizations.
Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you for your consideration.
Ryan
P.S. Please consider supporting the next generation of building professionals through our STEM Education program.
