The monthly meeting and training will take place October 10th at the Wood Grill Buffet in Harrisonburg at 9:30 am. Training will be provided by Sean Evensen-Shanley of Viridiant, a non-profit, building science organization working with the US Department of Energy and Southwest Energy Efficiency Alliance to prepare mechanical installers, builders, code officials and design professionals to keep current with code change requirements.
The 2-hour introductory training will focus on the changes in the 2015 Virginia Energy Conservation Code around residential duct tightness and testing. It will also cover the results of the field study (will also be emailed to Region III email list as well as training agenda), best practice for complying with the new code including a hands-on section, and how to find qualified duct testers.
Viridiant is also working through DHCD to provide a 4-hr training class for code officials for those of you who need more in-depth training.
This course qualifies for 2 AIA/CES Learning Units (HSW)
Hope to see you there.
