The Nominations Committee of the Virginia Building and Code Officials Association (VBCOA) acts as the primary “talent scout” and gatekeeper for the organization’s leadership. Its role is essential for ensuring that the Association is led by qualified, committed professionals who reflect the mission of building safety in Virginia.  The Nominations Committee ensures continuity by identifying future leaders early (often through a progression from Sergeant-at-Arms up to President), they help maintain a stable and experienced Board of Directors.

The committee’s responsibilities generally fall into three categories:

1.  Identifying and Vetting Candidates
2.  Creating the Slate of Officers
3.  Board Recommendations
