The Building Code Committee receives, considers and develops positions on model codes involving the International Building Code. The committee reviews proposed code changes and makes position recommendations to the Board and also develops code changes to be submitted on behalf of VBCOA. Because of the potential volume of possible changes, this committee is further divided into four sub committees, General, Structural, Means of Egress and Fire Safety. This committee also works closely with the USBC Administrative Ad-hoc Committee.
